Having breakfast and laughing my head off,
reading funny captions and remarks on
“If the stench of his wind was regrettable and intoxicating,
it was nothing compared to the realisation that he couldn’t open any of the windows.”
The homeowners made a pact to never mention the mornings
spent tapping walls trying to find the exit door.
Nonchalantly peering down the hall, it quickly became clear that
escaping without the other four doors noticing would be impossible.
His home had everything he required to live well:
oxygen, light, and a relaxing angle of repose.
The modern indoor/outdoor shower: No towels. No curtain. No shame.
A newer, sleeker home called for a newer, sleeker breed,
but Clancy wasn’t giving up without a fight.
He forced a smile as his first guests arrived early;
he had not yet explored all permutations of pillow arrangements
and it would vex him the entire evening.
